We sent out newsletters and wrote blogs about the Equifax breaches as they were happening. They have new numbers in that say that there was actually another 2.5 million people affected by the breaches which brings the total up to a whooping 148 million. The last 2.5 million didn’t has as much information stolen but they are still affected.
What’s next?
1: Go to the website: www.equifaxsecurity2017.com. It was set up specifically for the purpose of telling you whether you may have been one of the billions hacked.
2: Set up a my Social Security Account. If you do it, no one else can do it in your name!
3: Keep an eye on your bank accounts and report anything that seems out of place.
4: Change your passwords. See our blog for the best way to create a password.
5: Get a free annual credit report. By Federal Law, everyone is entitled to one! Click here to go to the website and request yours today!
