One of our techs wanted to share a recently received email:

It has all the earmarks of a hacker.  They love using scare tactics and hope that you will see the line across the top that says “This message is from a trusted sender.” and won’t think before clicking.

Let’s take a closer look.

1:   Gmail is never going to say “Someone Has Your Password”

2:   The sent address isn’t a Gmail account!  If you click on the carrot next to it you will see this:

3:  There are grammar and spelling errors, all point to a hacker.

What does a real Gmail alert look like?

The email address is a gmail account, there is no threat in the email, just a notification that a new device has accessed your account.
