Spam used to be easily recognized by your spam filter.  You didn’t have to think about opening your emails, or questioning the authenticity of them.

Hackers are getting smarter and finding ways around spam filters.

The typical scam warning signs are changing.  No longer are the emails being addressed to something similar to ‘dear friend.’

And hackers are using emails that appear to be from friends or family members.

How to spot this new spam:

1:  If an email looks wrong, don’t open the attachment or link.  Call or text the person that sent it and see if they actually sent it to you!

2:  You can always check the email address by hovering your mouse over it.  [A perfect example of this would be hovering over the ‘email us’ below, our email address will show up in the lower left hand corner of your screen.]
