Windows updates have started taking longer with each install.  The next update, Build 18312, will start reserving up to 7gbs of data so that it can always run the updates!

Windows is saying this will help to Windows run better, allowing room for the updates to be installed because the main cause of failed updates is lack of space on the hard drive.

And when Windows Updates don’t install correctly it causes problems.

But what about those computers that were sold with an 32gb solid state drive to save money?  They are already maxed out with just the operating system on them.

What can you do?

The only alternative right now is to upgrade your hard drive to a larger one or if your computer is slow due to Windows Updates, upgrade to a solid state drive.
