We have another scam email attachment to tell you about.  The attachment looks innocent enough.  It’s a word or an excel document that has been modified.

When you open it, you end up downloading malicious agents.

It may ask you to enable macros, which is turned off my default to prevent these agents from getting onto your computer.

Before opening an attachment:

Do you know who it’s from?  Are you expecting it? If you don’t, a good rule is to not open it.

What if you open it?

When you open it and it asks for you to enable macros, don’t do it!

If you already have macros allowed on your computer the malicious agents are already on your computer and you’ve downloaded more.

What can you do?

Make sure your operating system is up-to-date and that you have an antivirus on your computer.
