The latest email scam looks similar to this:
Hackers have spoofed your email address so it looks like you sent yourself an email, this bypasses your spam filter and anti-virus.
They also show you a password that most likely has been previously leaked from a company that had a data breach.
They offer ‘proof’ of what they are saying with a link.
Even if you catch all of the scam red flags in this email you may be tempted to click on the link.
Don’t!
Before you click on the link, they have only a password that was leaked. If you click on the link, you download the GrandCrab virus which will encrypt your computer!
What should you do?
1: Don’t click on the link.
2: Delete the email.
3: Change the password in the email on all the sites that you use it for.
